“Coming to Cypress was the best decision I ever could’ve made for my education. It has the academic structure and learning environment that I needed to succeed in school, while also having a strong sense of community. Cypress has come to feel like family, and I know that the staff will always have my back. Out of the three high schools I’ve been to, Cypress is and always will be my favorite..”

I enjoyed Cypress, it nurtured what I needed and helped me grow as a confident student through and through. If you like smaller spaces with extra support, I definitely recommend cypress being a first choice.

“My time at Cypress was amazing. I joined the school part way through my junior year after my old school stopped being a fit. I was instantly welcomed into the Cypress community through both students and teachers. When I started at this school I only had one friend but it quickly became more. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely wants you to succeed. In addition to a great social environment, Cypress also really helped me academically. At my old school I was so overwhelmed with the intense course load and extreme homework. I also felt like I did not have adequate support from my teachers. At Cypress I was able to succeed. The small class sizes allowed me to really interact with my teachers and create individualized plans to help with my school work. I also really enjoyed what we learned about in class. The curriculum was fun and really engaging. Cypress helped me in so many ways and I am grateful to the school for helping me like learning again. Overall Cypress was the best school for me and really helped shape me into the person I am today. I would highly recommend the school to anyone looking to join and feel prepared for my future education.”

“Every aspect of Cypress High School is nurturing, accepting, and loving. After feeling extremely overwhelmed and depressed, I turned to Cypress High school in hopes of refuge and found a safe haven of inclusivity and support. From the teachers to the students to the general atmosphere, Cypress High school provides the loving environment every adolescent craves, and deserves.”

“My son transferred to Cypress for his junior year of high school, after crumbling under the pressure at an academically challenging college prep public school in Santa Cruz. Cypress gave him a chance to relax more and make his own choices about the rigor of his education. His being at Cypress for his last two years of HS was such a relief for our whole family. The school is so warm and welcoming, and everyone is approachable and communicative. Students are supported in whatever ways they need, emotional or academic, and accepted for who they are. He’s now doing well in his freshman year at college, and we’ll always be thankful to Cypress and Megan Tresham for their dedication to students in our community.”

“I enjoyed being a student here. Sure I joined later into my senior year, but I certainly enjoyed it more than my last schools. I originally went to Aptos High for my freshman year, in which I did not enjoy it at all. I switched to online school since it was during the pandemic so it was not a great time. I went to online school for my sophomore and junior years. It was good at first and the teachers were really nice, but it eventually wasn’t for me. So it was back to finding a suitable school. Then my mother found this school, Cypress. It was a small school and I also had a long time friend that I haven’t seen in a while. It was accepting of everyone for who they were. It seemed like a good place so then I started coming here. Everyone was super nice and supportive towards me. Teachers were always willing to help on anything that they could. Also had classes that would be helping in later life, like economics or senior seminar. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience that I had at this school and recommend people trying to find a high school to go to come here.”
